Campus and school chess 5

Some chess in Ho Chi Minh City happens behind a school gate. The clubs of the University of Education, the University of Science and the University of Information Technology hold internal tournaments, organise sections of student sports festivals and send players to the city’s student championships. The Gia Định high school club on Võ Oanh posts an open tournament under its own name, and Vinschool Golden River in the former Quận 1 holds a traditional tournament for its pupils.

These cards are mainly for students, parents and staff. Whether someone from outside can join is not stated on the pages read; where an event is open, its card says so. The cards rest on tournament listings and on the institutions’ own news pages, each with the date it was read.
